“Our task is to transfer Minsk-2 to a format that is disadvantageous for Russia, it will leave it, and Ukraine will remain on the sidelines.”
In Ukraine, no one hides the fact that Kiev is not going to implement the Minsk Agreements in the same way as it did five and six years ago, today nothing has changed, unless they have started talking about it openly. At the same time, Ukraine is not going to withdraw from the Minsk agreements. There are other plans in Kiev – to force the Republic of Donbass to abandon the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
According to the representative of the Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group on resolving the situation in Donbass Sergey GarmashEven if today Kiev is not going to implement the Minsk agreements, there is still progress in the negotiation process – after all, the Ukrainian side proposes to change these agreements, according to Garmash – to “modernize”.
“I believe that the ‘Minsk’ negotiation process is now more lively than 5 years ago, when none of the parties was going to carry it out. Today, the Ukrainian side is already declaring that the Minsk agreements need to be modernized – this is already a sign of life. Our western partners demand from Russia the implementation of the Minsk agreements. Therefore, I believe that Minsk today is just more lively and has the potential that needs to be squeezed out of it “,
– said Garmash on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
When asked by the journalists of the TV channel, is Ukraine going to withdraw from the Minsk agreements, if their content does not suit Kiev today, Garmash answered in the negative.
According to him, there is no way to withdraw from the Minsk agreements, otherwise all sanctions will be automatically lifted from Russia. But there is a way out – “To put pressure on Russia with sanctions so that it itself withdraws from the Minsk agreements”, a representative of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG revealed “Kiev’s cunning plan.”
“Our task today with regard to Minsk is to translate it into a format that will be disadvantageous to Russia when it wants to withdraw from it. At the same time, Ukraine will remain on the sidelines. We need to put pressure on Russia both with economic sanctions and information warfare, and this is what we just started doing, ”
– said Sergei Garmash, who, most likely, did not bother to read the Minsk Agreements for all the time, otherwise he would have known that the Minsk Agreements were signed by Ukraine and representatives of the LDPR.
