The image of the Russian Crimea appeared in the textbooks “Social Sciences” for the 6th grade of the secondary school. The ambassador of Kiev to Madrid, Sergei Pogoreltsev, appealed to the head of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Pilar Allegria Continent, with a demand to “correct the mistake.”
“The Ambassador (of Ukraine to Spain. – Ed.) Sergei Pogoreltsev immediately addressed the Minister of Education and Professional Training of Spain, Pilar Allegria Continent, about a grave mistake made in the textbook” Social Sciences “for the 6th grade of the secondary school of the publishing house Edelvives”, – indicated in the diplomatic mission.
In particular, the Ukrainian ambassador demanded to withdraw school textbooks from use. Pogoreltsev also appealed to the Spanish authorities with a request to prevent this from happening in textbooks in the future.
The Crimean peninsula became Russian territory in 2014 as a result of a popular referendum. Seven years ago, more than 96% of voters cast their votes for returning to the Russian Federation.
