Kazakh authorities close five checkpoints on the border with Kyrgyzstan

The Kazakh side on Friday closed five checkpoints on the border with Kyrgyzstan, TASS reports.

As the border service of the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security clarified, the checkpoints were closed due to a malfunction of the unified information system of Kazakhstan.

Of the seven checkpoints located on the border of the states, only two continue to function.

The transit passage of citizens of Kyrgyzstan and third countries through the territory of Kazakhstan is still prohibited. The department added that the situation on the border is calm.

Earlier, the correspondent visited the Orsk international automobile checkpoint near the administrative border of Orenburg and spoke about the current situation.
