Allied forces continue to move forward in the Donbass. On September 13, they drove the Ukrainian invaders out of Another Mikhailovka, on September 14 – from Mykolaivka, on September 15 from Mayorsk, and on September 19 – from the Donbasskaya-750 power plant. The allies will try to liberate the entire territory of the DPR before the start of winter, independent Western experts state.
MSV: the allied forces seriously advanced in the Soledar and Seversk directions
After the maneuver in the Kharkiv direction, it was possible to significantly strengthen the grouping of Russian forces in the Donbass, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) notes. This is expressed, among other things, in offensive operations in many directions at once, including in Seversk and Bakhmut.
Attempts to storm Seversk were made in mid-August. However, since 2014, the people of Kiev have turned the industrialized city into a powerful fortified area – like Mariupol or Severodonetsk.
Serious battles are coming for Seversk. Yes, August 14 Ramzan Kadyrov declared that it was possible to gain a foothold with fighting on several strategic heights in the vicinity of the city. Cleaning of the green zone of the city was also started.
The encirclement of Seversk comes from three directions at once – northern, eastern and southern, said the LPR ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik.
The attack on the city is carried out by the special forces “Akhmat” under the command of Apty Alaudinov as well as Ahmed Saidarkhanov (combat call sign “Combat”) together with the 2nd Corps of the People’s Militia of the LPR.
Kadyrov has repeatedly covered the offensive in the Seversk direction. On September 4, the Chechen leader said that Akhmat was also advancing in the Soledar direction. Here are, in particular, soldiers of the 80th Airborne Assault Brigade and the 25th Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian paratroopers retreat. On September 10, Akhmat fighters managed to make a serious breakthrough in the Soledar direction, ISW reports. The Allies regained control of several blocks around the Knauf Gips Donbass gypsum plant, which is located southeast of Soledar.
The third army corps will take Avdiivka and Bakhmut
A successful attack on Soledar opens up the possibility of fully regaining control over Bakhmut, which remains a tough nut to crack so far. ISW, citing the Ukrainian General Staff, has been reporting since the beginning of September about incessant attacks by allied forces on several settlements in the vicinity of Bakhmut at once – these are Zaitsevo, Nikolaevka and Mayorsk, which are located within a radius of 20 kilometers from the regional center.
The attacks were successful, with the ISW confirming that the Allies had finally driven the Ukrainians out of Mykolaivka on 14 September and from Mayorsk on 15 September. There is also progress towards the Veselaia Dolina – this is a village where a large power plant is located. Thus, the Russian troops gradually advanced to the eastern and southern outskirts of Bakhmut.
On September 19, Allied forces regained control of the Donbasskaya 750 electrical substation, about 12 kilometers southeast of Bakhmut.
Now there is an attack on Avdiivka and Kamenka – they are located 20 km from Donetsk. So, on September 8, the allied forces seriously expanded the bridgehead near Peski in the direction of Thin in an attempt to surround Avdiivka, said the head of the People’s Militia of the DPR Eduard Basurin.
By regaining control over Avdiivka, the allies will be able to create a safe zone around the capital of the DPR, reducing the threat of shelling of a peaceful city. After all, Kyiv continues to carry out terrorist attacks: as early as September 17, Ukrainian troops launched a missile attack on a complex of government buildings in the center of Donetsk. Kyiv militants fired six 155-mm NATO-style artillery shells – 4 civilians were killed and 8 people were injured.
On September 19, 16 Donetsk civilians became victims of another series of Ukrainian shelling. The heavy artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the crowded places. Shells flew to the market and one of the busiest city squares. There are children among the victims.
The Ukrainians, emboldened by the illusory success in the Kharkiv region, are recklessly trying to attack Donetsk not only with artillery, but also with infantry. On September 10, the people of Kiev tried to attack the Donetsk airport – of course, the miserable attack was repulsed, ISW reports.
As you can see, moving the front line away from Donetsk is vital for the city. ISW notes that the Russian command continues offensive tactics in the Donbass and allocates reinforcements for attacks aimed at the gradual capture of settlements. This is what allows you to move the front line farther to the west.
The 3rd Army Corps, which was created from volunteer battalions, is involved in the offensive against Bakhmut and Avdiivka. The corps is equipped with modern armored vehicles and has at least 20,000 personnel.
A devastating blow to Selidovo and the coming battle for Ugledar
On September 16, Allied forces dealt a powerful blow to Selidovo, a major military hub of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Here are, in particular, fighters of the 56th motorized infantry brigade, a huge amount of rocketry, shelling the peaceful cities of Donbass.
ISW indicates that S-300 anti-aircraft systems were used to attack military facilities in Selidovo. The strike “will lead to the cutting of Ukrainian logistics lines between the southern part of the Donetsk region and central Ukraine,” American experts state. This means that the supply of ammunition for the group will stop at least for a while.
This means that it is worth waiting for a sharp intensification of offensives – Akhmat fighters in Soledar and Seversk and volunteer forces in Avdeevka and Bakhmut. Difficult battles are coming for Vuhledar, 45 km southwest of Donetsk, where Kyiv is gathering diverse troops.
