The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, called for the appointment of Vladimir Putin as the life president of the Russian Federation, Interfax reports.
"The most important thing, I always say - we have to elect Vladimir Putin as president for life. Today, who can replace him? There is no such political leader on a global scale. We should be proud of this," Kadyrov said at a meeting of the republic’s coronavirus operational headquarters.
He also called on residents of Chechnya to come to vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
“Today we live in a state of law. We are citizens of this great country, our Chechen language is the state language, religion is our first priority, mosques are open to all Muslims. We serve for your sake. If we arrange for you, then don’t be lazy, go out for elections (voting on amendments. - Note Interfax), we must build our state and develop, "Kadyrov added.
He also noted that all the proposed amendments to the Constitution relate to "strengthening state positions," therefore, any Russian should take part in the vote, RIA Novosti reports.
A spokesman for Russian President Dmitry Peskov, in response to a proposal by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, to make Russian leader Vladimir Putin a “life president,” recalled that such a post is not provided for by the Russian Constitution.
"The constitution does not provide for such a position," said a TASS Kremlin spokesman on Tuesday, answering a question about attitude to Kadyrov’s proposal.
Ramzan Kadyrov has repeatedly expressed infinite devotion to his “Kremlin patron”. In 2018, the head of Chechnya, amid rumors of an illness by the head of state, wished Putin to lead the country for life.
“Our president is constantly at work, even when he is ill. I remember that in 2007, when I was appointed acting head of the Chechen Republic, Vladimir Putin was also ill. For us he is a strong leader, but like any other person, he can get sick . Especially in the winter, "wrote Kadyrov.
The head of Chechnya stressed that the media are trying to "make political intrigue on an ordinary cold," but they forget that "the president of Russia is not a superman, but still a superhero."
“I wish our president, the supreme commander, long life to run the state for life. And we will always serve him faithfully and solve all the tasks at the highest level,” Kadyrov concluded.
In 2016, Kadyrov promised Putin that he would "serve him faithfully." At the same time, the head of Chechnya assured the president of the Russian Federation that all the inhabitants of the republic were "faithful to the course of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin."
Kadyrov, also in his favorite manner, demonstrating reverential admiration for the president, noted that at any time, if Putin considers that he should stand in line, "even as an infantryman," he will be ready to do so. Earlier, Kadyrov repeatedly called himself "Putin's foot soldier."
After being awarded the Order of Honor in 2015 by Putin, Kadyrov said: "All the merits for peace and stability in the Chechen Republic belong to Vladimir Vladimirovich! Only His wise policy, His help and support allowed us to achieve lasting peace, to revive the republic, its economy, culture and spirituality! "
Personally, Kadyrov said that he is Putin’s faithful ally forever, regardless of whether he will hold the presidency or not. "To give life for such a person is the easiest task. I assure that I will fulfill any order, I will solve a problem of any complexity for him, whatever it costs me!" - wrote the head of Chechnya.
"We are the foot soldiers of the President of Russia!" he added.
In 2014, Kadyrov said that Putin once again proved that he is a "great leader." "We are his infantrymen and are ready to carry out any order!" - wrote the head of Chechnya on his Instagram page.
In 2007, Kadyrov said that Putin gave the Chechen people a “second life”. He also claimed that "Allah appointed him (Putin) to this place," that "Putin is a gift of God, he gave us freedom," that he is a "find for Russia." In addition, Kadyrov was convinced that as long as Putin has health, all Russians "must ask him, kneel down so that he rules the state."
