Journalist Nikolai Svanidze was detained at a protest in Moscow

The head of the journalism department of the Institute of Mass Media of the Russian State University for the Humanities stood near the Sukharevskaya metro station. Together with him were his colleagues from the World for Human Rights.

Two riot policemen stuck to Svanidze, took him under his hands and took him away, along with other people who had been stalled earlier.

The journalist reported to RIA Novosti that he remembered the protest action as an observer. Soon Svanidze was released.

TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak wrote in social networks that she did not understand why it was necessary to detain a “dangerous revolutionary” in a hat with earflaps and glasses.

Let us remind you that protest actions are taking place on January 31 throughout Russia. FBK employees called on people to take to the streets.
