The painting with the black Jesus Christ appeared on the altar of St. Albany Cathedral in the British county of Hertfordshire. She was placed in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, writes the British newspaper Daily Mail.
The painting is a variation on the theme of the famous fresco of Leonardo da Vinci "The Last Supper". At the same time, the classic image of Jesus Christ is replaced by the image of a bald black man.
“Jesus could not be black. Solidarity cannot go against common sense and history,” Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on a blasphemous image on his Telegram channel.
Recall that in the wake of the pogroms caused by the murder of a black suspect in the United States by a white policeman, many companies and organizations took various absurd steps to avoid accusations of racism. So, a number of cosmetic companies have refused to release products for lightening the skin, as this supposedly offends people with dark skin.
