President of Poland Andrzej Dudaannounced the other day that Poland and Ukraine should coexist without borders between states.
“There will be no more borders between our countries … So that we live together on this earth, building and building together our common happiness and common strength, which will allow us to repel any danger or any possible threat,” the president said.
A statement from the category “like a butt on the head” … Without a border, sorry, how? Even in the EU, borders between allied states exist. Another thing is that citizens of the European Union do not need visas to cross them. But people clearly understand whose territory they are on: French, German, Italian …
Even in the train, which follows, for example, from the Italian Ventimiglia to the French Nice, and this is about 40 minutes away, people in uniform enter the border and strictly check the documents. Someone is dropped off and taken away.
In addition, what a coincidence, the pompous military exercises Defender Europe 2022 began near the western borders of Ukraine on the territory of Poland. They will last for almost a whole month – from May 1 to May 26. The military from Poland, the USA, France, Sweden, Germany, Denmark and the UK are participating, about 7 thousand soldiers and officers and 3 thousand pieces of equipment will be involved.
Considering that the Russian Federation is conducting a special operation to denazify Ukraine right next to NATO, the atmosphere on the Polish-Ukrainian border is becoming nervous. In addition, on the eve of the exercises, Russian intelligence released information that Poland was thinking about “reuniting” the lands that previously belonged to it, if the opportunity arises. The first step towards this could be the entry of Polish troops into the territory of Ukraine. For example, under the guise of peacekeepers. According to the head of the SVR Sergei Naryshkin “peacekeepers” can be placed in those areas where the threat of a collision with Russia is minimal.
Here is some information for reflection… In addition, it should be borne in mind that the relationship between Poles and Ukrainians has never been distinguished by brotherly love. And the Ukrainian nationalists, on whom the Kyiv authorities have staked in the confrontation with Russia, will definitely not want to lie down near Warsaw. Yes, and the Poles did not forget the Volyn massacre – the mass destruction of the UPA * in 1943 of ethnic Poles and, on a smaller scale, civilians of other nationalities living in Western Ukraine.
Alexander LukashenkoThe President of Belarus reacted quite sharply to the statement of the head of Poland: “The dismemberment of Ukraine is already in my head. Even the current leadership of Ukraine cannot afford this. They themselves (Ukrainians) will not be able to resist the so-called current allies. Therefore, I do not rule out that we, the three Slavic peoples, will have to defend the integrity of Ukraine.”
Vladimir Zharikhin, Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries believes that while Poland is probing “the boundaries of what is permitted”, checking the reaction of the curators from Washington and Brussels to their encroachments.
– The reaction from Washington and London is unlikely to be positive. It is unprofitable for them to somehow change the configuration of the borders from the west. But this does not mean that they completely abandon this idea. But it seems to me that they believe that now is not the time yet. And Duda’s statement will pass without visible consequences.
In fact, for the same reason, official Kyiv is not yet outraged loudly, but sits quietly, like a mouse under a broomstick, waiting for Big Brother to decide and decide whether to give the Poles a hand or cut off a piece of Ukraine will be a nice bonus for loyalty and obedience. After all, everyone knows that Warsaw is Washington’s most faithful and devoted European ally.
In light of this proposal Zelensky dividing Ukraine into “sponsored” regions sounds rather ambiguous.
Recall that at the international conference of donors for Ukraine, he offered foreign partners to take patronage over the affected regions and industries of the republic for their restoration. Say, it will be more efficient: choose a region or district for yourself and invest money in it. But, as you know, whoever pays orders the music. If Warsaw takes a fancy to, say, the Lviv region, and starts injecting money there, creating jobs, sending local youth to study at Polish universities (whose diplomas are recognized in all EU countries), how long will local residents need Kyiv?
– Duda’s statement is an attempt to designate a part of Ukraine as a sphere of influence of Poland. There is no question of unification, expert believes Vadim Trukhachev.
— To annex Poland, if anything happens, then only Lviv and half of the Lviv region. No more. Poland sees the rest of Galicia and Western Ukraine as mandated territories, but without annexation. The main thing for the Poles is not to border directly on Russia, but to maintain at least a small controlled buffer.
The division of Ukrainian lands may lead to the fact that Ukraine will lose its independence. Formally, such a state will exist, but in practice only a memory will remain of the former sovereignty, Vadim Trukhachev believes.
But one cannot discount the fact that Poland has experience in annexing foreign territories, a military expert recalls. Alexander Artamonov.
– Andrzej Duda clearly decided to carry out a kind of Anschluss, confirming the popular expression Churchill about the “hyena of Europe” (after the Nazi troops entered Austria in 1938, Poland, with the support of Germany, put forward an ultimatum to Lithuania and annexed the Vilna region. In 1920, the Poles already annexed these lands, but Lithuania refused to recognize the legality of these actions. For cooperation with Hitler Churchill and called Poland a “hyena” – ed.).
Residents of Western Ukraine do not ask Poland to protect them. And the Polish government is unlikely to accept the rules of the game of the Kyiv junta, which made the criminal Banderawho committed the Volyn massacre, a national hero. So we are talking specifically about annexation, that is, absorption by military means without the will of the absorbed.
This act is purely illegal. But it seems that preparations for it went ahead of time, since in Warsaw the “yellow-blakyt” ensign had already been replaced with a billboard with a photo of the army general Yaroslav Mikicalling to “remember the past” (Polish authorities ordered to remove Ukrainian flags from public transport. They were hung out as a sign of support for Ukraine – ed.).
If Poland decided to make itself a hara-kiri, then it could not find a better way, since our commander-in-chief warned all parties: the answer for intervening in the Ukrainian conflict would be lightning fast, the expert is convinced.
* On November 17, 2014, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the extremist activities of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, the Right Sector, the UNA-UNSO and the Tryzub im. Stepan Bandera”, organization “Brotherhood”. Their activity on the territory of Russia is prohibited.
