The press service of the Israel Defense Forces reported that the tanks of the Israeli army fired at the border with Syria, Interfax reports.
The shelling was reportedly carried out as a warning to “suspicious individuals” who occupied “military posts” on the border with Syria and then fled to its territory.
There were no reports of possible casualties or damage.
Earlier, the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, said that Syrian air defense systems shot down seven missiles fired by Israeli F-16 fighters in the area of the international airport in Damascus.
He noted that eight missiles were fired by four Israeli Air Force tactical fighters while they were over the Golan Heights. Subsequently, seven shells were shot down with the help of Russian-made Pantsir-S complexes.
