Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will speak at a plenary session of the State Duma on January 20, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the first vice-speaker of the House Alexander Zhukov.
The speech of the Iranian leader is scheduled for 12.00.
Earlier, Iranian government spokesman Ali Bahadori said Raisi would visit Russia in January.
In turn, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the visit of the Iranian president to Moscow very important and stressed the need to take an inventory of relations, taking into account changes in the country’s leadership, to discuss the economic agenda, international politics, work in the UN and other international organizations.
Today, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Said Khatibzadeh said that during his visit to Russia, Raisi will hold detailed talks with Vladimir Putin on various issues, in particular, on cooperation in the fields of culture, politics and technology.
Earlier it was reported that the meeting of the Russian and Iranian presidents will take place this week.
Lavrov also announced progress on the restoration of the Iran nuclear deal. The eighth round of negotiations began at the end of December in Vienna.
