The US Consulate General in Yekaterinburg has suspended the issuance of visas to American citizens. Nevertheless, the house continues to be open to visitors.
As reported by the US Consul General in Yekaterinburg Amy Storrow, other services are also not provided to American citizens. “From April 1, all services will be provided to US citizens by the consulate in Moscow. The consular district is expanding to the entire territory of Russia, ”said Amy Storrow.
The activities of the US Consulate General in Yekaterinburg were limited due to the “analysis of the circumstances of work and security” of the US diplomatic mission, as well as the personnel who work in Russia. The consulate formulated the hope that a sufficient number of diplomatic visas would be provided as soon as possible so that the American Consulate General would resume work in Yekaterinburg.
Since March 2020, the US Consulate General in Yekaterinburg has been providing emergency services. US Ambassador to Moscow John Sullivan also noted that the diplomatic mission in Vladivostok will not resume work in the shortest possible time. The consulate was suspended in March last year.
