Earlier, he reported that he received complaints from citizens of the country about the names of cities and settlements, which are of a Russian-speaking nature. Kremin appealed to the local authorities with an appeal to bring these names in line with the standards of Ukrainian spelling. He told about this on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
“We counted about 20 such names that do not correspond to the norms of the Ukrainian language. But, let’s say, there are names of streets, names of squares, squares, ”Kremin emphasized.
Thus, he “invited the public to pay attention” to this aspect.
It is clarified that since May 2015, a law “on condemning the communist and Nazi regimes” has been in effect in Ukraine, which prohibits the propaganda of Soviet symbols. The document suggests renaming cities and streets named after Soviet statesmen.
