Power outages reportedly affected residents of North Carolina, West Virginia, Georgia, Massachusetts and South Carolina.
More than 1,500 flights were canceled as a result of bad weather on Monday.
According to the weather forecast, the snowstorm, which is accompanied by snowfalls and glaciers, will move north and gradually lose strength. At the same time, sharp gusts of up to 22 meters per second are predicted in New York and Boston.
Previously, almost 180 thousand people were left without electricity due to bad weather in several Russian regions at once.
