The US State Department gave an answer to the start of gas injection into Nord Stream 2.
The United States will continue to oppose the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline even after the pipeline starts pumping gas, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said at a briefing.
The United States did not comment on the information about the beginning of filling the pipe with gas. “We continue to oppose this pipeline, we continue to believe that this is a geopolitical project of the Russian Federation,” the American diplomat said.
On October 4, the Danish energy agency announced that Nord Stream 2 had met all the requirements and could be operated, RIA Novosti reported.
After reports of the beginning of filling in Europe, the price of gas fell sharply: at the auction on Monday, the price fell by $ 70, to $ 1,124 per cubic meter.
