The United States is ready to continue dialogue with Russia on security guarantees, US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said in an interview with the Financial Times.
According to her, Washington is now preparing written responses on this topic to Russian officials.
Nuland believes that the dialogue between the two countries should be based on the principle of reciprocity.
“Namely, they will express their grievances, but we also have our concerns,” she said, adding that the door was open for a diplomatic solution from the United States.
Earlier, the Kremlin said that a series of negotiations with the US and NATO on security guarantees in Europe turned out to be unsuccessful: disagreements were recorded on the fundamental issues of consultations between Russia, the US and NATO. However, Moscow is also ready to continue the dialogue and expects an early response from the American side.
