Japan is watching the actions of Russian and Chinese warships that took part in joint naval exercises. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Deputy Secretary General of the Government of the country Yoshihiko Isozaki.
He noted that the joint passage of Russian and Chinese ships was seen in the Tsugaru Strait area. They moved in the direction from the Sea of Japan to the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The politician stressed that the Japanese side noticed ten ships. Among them were five Russian and five Chinese vessels.
According to Isozaki, such actions were recorded for the first time. He assured that the Japanese authorities will continue to monitor the actions of the ships of the Russian Federation and the PRC.
Recall that the annual Russian-Chinese naval exercises “Sea Interaction” have been held since 2012. They are designed to strengthen the combat capability of countries in countering threats at sea.
Earlier, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that North Korea fired two shells towards the Sea of Japan, which are most likely ballistic missiles.
