After the completion of the certification procedure and commissioning, the Nord Stream 2 pipeline will create additional opportunities for gas transportation to European countries. This statement was made by the representative of the German Ministry of Economy, Beate Baron, reports TASS.
“In terms of security of supply for the EU and member countries, including Germany, Nord Stream 2 represents new, additional capacity for natural gas imports,” Baron said.
According to her, after the launch of SP-2, there will be significantly more opportunities for transporting blue fuel during periods of high demand on the European gas market or during repair work on other pipelines.
Earlier, the German Ministry of Economy and Energy sent its conclusion on the certification of Nord Stream 2 to the Federal Network Agency, stressing that the pipeline would not pose a threat to gas supplies to European states.
