The interim government of Libya, which meeting in the east of the country has submitted a letter of resignation to the House of Representatives, RIA Novosti reports with reference, citing a statement from the legislative assembly.
The corresponding request will soon be submitted to the Council of Parliament.
It is noted that on Sunday, the head of the parliament, Agila Saleh, held an emergency meeting with representatives of the executive power in the east of the country, including the chairman of the interim government Abdullah Abdurrahman at-Thani. During the meeting, officials discussed the implementation of measures aimed at meeting citizens' demands for improving living conditions, as well as the situation with coronavirus infection.
Meanwhile, large-scale protests are taking place in the east of the country. Local residents report a deterioration in living standards, as well as power outages.
