The neutron production facility at the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology could have been destroyed. This was stated by Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, TASS reports.
“It appears to have been destroyed. There is no release of radiation,” he said.
Grossi noted that this facility was used for scientific experiments and had little stock of material. He expressed regret over its eventual destruction.
Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron the safety of nuclear power plants in Ukraine. The French President announced the IAEA’s proposal to organize a meeting to develop a mechanism for ensuring the safety of nuclear facilities in the country.
