The Hungarian Foreign Ministry explained the provisions of the law prohibiting the promotion of homosexuality among children, which caused dissatisfaction with the EU.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyjarto explained the reasons and provisions of the law banning the promotion of homosexuality among children and adolescents. The law was previously approved by parliament and came into force in early September.
This law is about Hungarian children. He says the following: the education of Hungarian children up to 18 years of age with regard to matters of sexual orientation should be carried out exclusively by their parents,
– said the minister about the provisions of the law RBC.
The minister noted that the law does not infringe on homosexuals and other sex minorities. The law is directed against the distribution of pornographic materials and information about gender reassignment. At the same time, Foreign Minister Siyarto called the propaganda of the values of homosexuality among children madness.
The Minister stressed that after 18 years, Hungarian citizens are free in their personal lives.
The European Commission has threatened the Hungarian authorities with a court because of the law, Hungarian Prime Minister Orban intends to bring the issue of the law to a referendum.
Earlier it became known that the European Parliament may sue the European Commission for refusing to punish Hungary and Poland.
