Forgetting to close a window or door shutter at night, you may find that by morning the whole house is teeming with mosquitoes. During the day they hide in various holes, and by night they fly out and terrorize all the households. In order to get rid of them quickly, you can place a home-made trap in each room, which will allow you to catch all the mosquitoes and finally start sleeping without night bites.
What is required:
- plastic bottle;
- warm water;
- dry yeast;
- scotch tape or paper clip.
The process of manufacturing a mosquito trap
To make a trap, you need to take a plastic bottle with a volume of 1.5-2 liters. From it you need to cut the neck. The cut is performed as evenly as possible along the line of transition of the neck to straight walls. Prepared halves are being postponed.
Then you need to prepare a solution to attract mosquitoes. To do this, you need to warm 200 ml of water to a temperature of +35 ... + 40 degrees Celsius. It is poured into a cut bottle, and 2 tbsp. Are dissolved in it. tablespoons of sugar.
After that, a teaspoon of dry baker's yeast is poured on top.
They do not stir. You just need to pour them on top, the yeast themselves will soften and fall into the water. It is important that when filling the yeast, the water temperature is within the specified degrees. This will allow them to activate and begin to process sugar.
Then an inverted neck is inserted into the cut bottle, located like a funnel. She should not reach the water with yeast.
Next, you need to darken the bottle. To do this, a newspaper or other thick paper is wound around it. It can be fixed with tape, tied with a thread, or simply pressed with a paper clip.
Then the trap is installed in the house so as not to interfere. It is optimal to make such a trap in each room. The yeast it contains when it eats sugar emits carbon dioxide, the same as humans and animals exhale. Guided by him, mosquitoes find their victims. As a result, they fly into the trap and, due to its shape, cannot get out, after which they get tired and fall into the liquid.
Such a trap is completely safe for humans and animals, as it is seasoned with ordinary yeast and sugar. Validity of one refueling is approximately 2 weeks. Just how much yeast can live in sweet water and give off carbon dioxide. In the heat, they work faster, so refilling traps is required more often, moreover, the liquid from it actively evaporates, which also reduces the duration.
