Buying ready-made cement-based blocks as wall materials will be expensive. Having made with your own hands a fairly simple form for forming a pair of blocks at once, you can prepare the required amount of wall material and significantly save the family budget.
It will take
- remnants of sheet metal;
- a piece of steel strip;
- a piece of a round bar or reinforcement;
- cement, sand and water.
Tools: marking devices, a grinder, a welding machine, a container for mixing the mixture and a trowel.
The process of making a mold from metal and forming blocks with it on cement
Cut out three rectangular plates 19 × 39 cm, two 19 × 18.5 cm and one 40 × 19.5 cm from the remains of sheet metal.
We weld four box-shaped structures of two trapezoidal plates 19 cm high and bases: lower 15 cm, upper 14 cm.Two side surfaces of the boxes with the same height have a width of 4 cm at the bottom, 3 cm at the top.
We place symmetrically four boxes with the wide side down on a horizontally laid plate 40 × 19.5 cm so that in the middle the distance between them is 2.5 cm in the transverse direction and 4.3 cm in the longitudinal direction. to the bottom base plate.
We install two plates 19 × 39 cm and 19 × 18.5 cm vertically on the ends of the base, weld them together (but not to the base!), Strictly maintaining all four corners of 90 degrees.
We weld two pieces of strip 41 cm and 20.5 cm long along the contour of the base plate, having previously formed (beveled) the ends, so that in the end they look like a small trough with the base.
In the middle in the longitudinal direction in a previously welded box, we place and weld a partition, which is located at a distance of 9.3 cm from the walls.
From the outside, steel plates are welded to the upper ends of the box outside for rigidity. We put the box on the welded plates and cover it on top with a base with an oblique flange.
We weld handles bent into brackets from round bars or reinforcement to the flanging on both sides. Towards them with a gap of 2 cm, we weld exactly the same handles to the sides of the box.
Place the base with four box-shaped hollow structures on a horizontal surface. On top we put a rectangular box with a central lintel, which is centered relative to the base by an oblique flange.
We pour the mixture into the mold, placing it evenly over the entire area of the mold with a trowel, and shaking it to compact.
As a result, we get two blocks 39 × 09 × 19 cm.
After the final filling of the form, turn it over and tap the form on all sides with a trowel. Carefully lift and remove the base with the hole formers in the block.
For greater safety of the blocks, cover them with two strips with handles in the center, hold them with your thumbs and remove the box with a central jumper.
As a result, we get two exceptionally high-quality blocks.
