Owners of large areas of lawn and garden spend hours almost every weekend cleaning fallen leaves or mowed grass. The rake takes a long time, therefore, to speed up the process, you can make a mechanical brush with a large hopper. With it, routine work will be done ten times faster.

Brush making process
The assembly must begin with the manufacture of the comb. For this, 4 strips of 28 cm are prepared. Mounting holes are drilled in them along the edges. Each of them is welded to 28 elongated nuts with pressed-in sections of a rigid cable.
To prevent the cable from unwinding into the wiring, its edges should be fastened with a drop of welding. You can make 2 combs not from a cable, but from hard plastic rods from a broom.
On the 65 cm axle, 4 hubs with lugs are installed. Combs are screwed to them.
The axle is fixed to the brush body by means of bearings. It is a 60 cm wide frame with 30x40 cm sheet steel sidewalls. Their upper front corner must be rounded to fit the combs diameter.
Outside the sidewalls, wheels from a garden cart are fixed. They are placed so that the comb cables can turn freely. One of the wheels, if desired, can be connected to the axle by means of two gears of different diameters. In this case, the brush will be self-propelled.
An electric drive is installed on the brush body. A starter can be used as it.
It is connected to the comb axle by means of a chain drive. The rotation must be backward towards the operator.
For stability, the cart is equipped with height-adjustable castors behind. The control handle is welded to it. The body is closed with plastic from a lined sewer pipe.
A hopper is welded from thin tubes or fittings to collect leaves and grass. Its width and height at the rear are 60 cm each. The height at the front is 20 cm. Its frame is covered with tarpaulin or burlap. It should cling to the brush cart with the pins at the bottom and top.
A conventional storage battery is connected to the electric drive of the trolley.
Under it, you need to weld the mounting platform. The power button is displayed on the control handle. A cover for a chain and a protection for a motor with a battery are also made of a lined plastic pipe.
A homemade brush perfectly collects leaves, combes the lawn well from old grass. Its use in combination with a scarifier will bring the lawn to perfection.
