Anastasia Yeschenko and Oleg Sokolov
A regular court hearing was held today in the case of the former associate professor of St. Petersburg State University, 64-year-old Oleg Sokolov. The historian said that it was he who was to blame for the death of Anastasia Yeschenko, with whom he was in a love relationship.
Yes, I plead guilty and repent of what I did
- he said.
Earlier, Sokolov refused to be held accountable - in June, the scientist during interrogation did not answer the question whether he pleaded guilty to the murder. Also, a former university teacher admitted that he kept weapons and ammunition at home.
Recall that in November 2019, the famous historian, researcher of the Napoleonic era and at that time associate professor of St. Petersburg State University Oleg Sokolov was found in an inadequate state in the Moika River. The police found a backpack with him, which contained severed female hands and a pistol. Anastasia Yeshchenko, a 24-year-old graduate student of St. Petersburg State University, was killed, with whom they had been dating for about five years and were going to get married. As Sokolov said, he committed the crime out of jealousy.
The quarrel between Yeshchenko and Sokolov arose due to the fact that the girl was jealous of his children and ex-wives.
She looked like a witch. Hair was disheveled. To calm her down, I started filming with my phone. She left. I was shaking, I sat down at the computer, wanted to recover. After 40 minutes, she burst into the room with a knife, began to cut a scarf with the words that "she hates everything connected with me",
- recalled the historian.
The examination recognized him as sane and out of the state of passion.
