Here is the block, here is the threshold: the RKN named the number of deleted fakes about the elections

Almost 19 thousand fakes about elections were discovered by the Public Chamber… This result is associated with a large number of reposts, the agency told Izvestia. Wherein Roskomnadzor deleted 13 materials and blocked eight pages about the September 17-19 voting, the department told Izvestia. They also added that these actions were taken on the basis of the requirements of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The Federation Council, in turn, added that due to the spread of fakes, risks significantly increase, including for the life and health of people.

Deleted material

According to the results of the single voting day (EDG), the State Duma has repeatedly announced the active dissemination of fake messages. In particular, Vasily Piskarev, head of the parliamentary commission to investigate the facts of foreign interference in the country’s internal affairs, noted the foreign origin of such materials. “During the voting days, foreign NGOs massively disseminated fakes about the elections in Russia. First of all, this refers to the information of the Golos movement, recognized as a foreign agent, “Piskarev reported.

On the basis of the requirements of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation received by Roskomnadzor in relation to inaccurate information about the elections, 13 materials were deleted, eight pages were blocked, – RKN told Izvestia

They also recalled that the publication of deliberately inaccurate socially significant information under the guise of reliable messages entails the imposition of an administrative fine of up to 5 million rubles on legal entities. It is worth noting that repeated violation of the law will lead to an administrative fine for citizens in the amount of 300 thousand to 400 thousand rubles, for officials – from 600 thousand to 900 thousand rubles, and legal entities – from 5 million to 10 million rubles. …

More detailed information appeared after the elections. October 4, the head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova said that a lawsuit could be filed against the correspondent of “APN North-West” Anatoly Kanter for the publication, according to which the CEC allegedly “using electronic voting drew about 14 million votes in favor of” United Russia “… True, there is an obvious fake – Pamfilova recalled that only about 2.7 million people were registered for electronic voting in seven regionsTo.

Actually There is, of course, much more false information than the number of materials blocked and deleted by Roskomnadzor. So, in the Public Chamber (OP) “Izvestia” was told about the discovery of about 19 thousand such messages on the Duma elections from early July to September 25.

There are several main themes of election-related fakes. Among them: coronavirus, alleged stuffing, transportation of voters, remote electronic voting, compulsory vaccination… If we talk about COVID-19, then they wrote about the illness of the members of the commission and non-observance of sanitary standards, – the member of the RF OP, director of the Safe Internet League Ekaterina Mizulina listed the main trends.

She also talked about some very curious inventions. One of these topics was the information that all debtors are met by employees of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSPP) at the sites. “This fake started in Vologda, and then fanned out across all regions. All this was aimed at reducing the turnout and intimidating voters, ”added Mizulina.

Dangerous syndrome

In addition, the Public Chamber told about the reasons for such indicators.

The fake is added and edited when it is re-posted. This leads to a flood of false information on one topic. There are thousands of shares, but every such message is false. That’s why we get such huge numbers.… However, there are not so many fake launch points. These are separate media outlets and accounts in social networks that carry out the “seeding”, – said Alexander Malkevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Council of the RF OP RF for Public Control of Voting, to Izvestia.

The Federation Council emphasizes that the spread of inaccurate messages, in particular about elections, the voting process and the coronavirus, is very dangerous, first of all, for the well-being of citizens.

We are actively fighting extremism. But the spread of fakes about the alleged danger of vaccination and the uselessness of vaccines is no less dangerous… The high mortality rate is largely on the conscience of those who disseminate false information. There are very serious consequences here, ”Vladimir Krugly, a member of the Federation Council committee on social policy, candidate of medical sciences, told Izvestia.

He noted that there are special people who invent this information and actively disseminate it on social networks. “This has nothing to do with freedom of speech and freedom of expression,” added the senator.

It is worth recalling that on April 1, 2020, the President signed a law on imprisonment for disseminating deliberately false information about circumstances that pose a threat to the life and safety of citizens (including coronavirus), if this led to grave consequences. The law provides for punishment in the form of a fine from 300 thousand to 700 thousand rubles or restriction of freedom for up to three years. If, as a result of the spread of fake news, harm is caused to health, the fine will be from 700 thousand to 1.5 million rubles, the term of imprisonment – up to three years. If false information disseminated by a citizen entailed the death of a person or other grave consequences, then the fine will be from 1.5 million rubles, and the term of imprisonment – up to five years.
