Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin met with the head of the CIA, William Burns in Moscow. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press bureau of the SVR.
The meeting took place at the initiative of the American side. It is specified that Naryshkin and Burns discussed issues of interdepartmental interaction in the context of bilateral relations. The heads also raised the issue of combating international terrorism.
Earlier it was reported that Burns met with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev. They discussed the relationship between Russia and the United States. Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov noted that small positive shifts were outlined in relations between the two countries.
