Guardian: Armed Forces of Ukraine lose to Russian military in artillery confrontation in Donbass

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are losing to Russian troops in the confrontation in the Donbass due to an acute shortage of artillery pieces, said Vadym Skibitsky, deputy head of military intelligence of Ukraine.

In an interview with the British Guardian newspaper, he said that the outcome of the confrontation depends on what weapons the West will transfer to the Ukrainian military. Skibitsky noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine use from five to six thousand artillery shells a day.

“Ukraine has one artillery piece for every 10-15 Russian artillery pieces,” he said.

According to him, the Ukrainian army has almost completely used up all its ammunition. Currently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine use shells of 155 mm NATO standard.
