Germany made a statement about the “Nord Stream-2”

The Social Democratic Party of Germany supports the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project despite the Russian “threat” to the Ukrainian side, said SPD Secretary General Kevin Kuehnert.

“The constant mention of the gas pipeline in the context of relations between Russia and Ukraine can bury projects that have always been a thorn in the eye,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The SPD secretary general noted that at the current stage, only formal approval from lawyers is lacking for the launch of Nord Stream 2.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that SP-2 is a commercial project and urged not to politicize it. At the same time, Washington and Kiev are actively opposing the gas pipeline.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on American senators to support the bill providing for sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
