The German Foreign Ministry commented on the latest statement by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on the Nord Stream 2 project.
According to the spokesman for the ministry Andrea Sasse, Berlin took note of the words of the US Secretary of State. “As for our position on the project, then … our position remains unchanged,” stressed Sasse, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Anthony Blinken on the air of the CNN television channel announced Washington’s intention to strengthen restrictions against companies involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. He stressed that the sanctions will be strengthened, as “the United States considers the project a bad idea.”
Meanwhile, to date, “SP-2” has been built by more than 95%. According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, the project will be completed despite opposition from Washington, since the gas pipeline fully complies with European legislation.
