The amendments to the laws on military service were commented by State Duma Deputy Lieutenant-General in the reserve Andrey Gurulev.
He stated that these amendments are important in order to regulate at the legislative level a number of legislative nuances that arose during the period of the “military special operation” of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, writes MK.
On September 20, the State Duma unanimously adopted amendments that toughen penalties for violating the law on military service.
“I meet these adjustments as a military man and a patriot of my Motherland. That is, with joy and some relief,” Gurulev said.
According to him, the Russian Federation now has to fight with the NATO army, therefore “the situation requires tougher responsibility for meeting these obvious demands”.
According to the amendments made, paragraph “l” of part 1 of article 63 of the Criminal Code “Circumstances aggravating punishment” will contain the words “mobilization” and “martial law”.
