The Russian company Gazprom will adjust the formula by which the price of gas under a long-term contract for Greece will be determined. This is reported by EADaily.
DEPA, controlled by the Greek government, and Gazprom came to an agreement. It is of great importance for the energy security of Greece. This statement was made by the Minister of Environment and Energy of Greece Kostas Skrekas.
“The agreement between DEPA Commercial and Gazprom to adjust the price for the supply of natural gas is extremely important for our country, as it creates the basis for protecting Greek households in the midst of a protracted energy crisis. Both the ministry and the government support and take initiatives to ensure competitive energy prices for the Greek market, ”he said.
The parties announced a revision of the parameters of the deal at the beginning of the year. The exporter has continued to try to find acceptable conditions since the fall of 2021. At the end of last year, the volume of Russian exports to the country amounted to 3 billion cubic meters of gas.
