Gazprom plans to create a record fuel reserve in storage facilities

Gazprom intends to create a record fuel reserve in Russian underground gas storage facilities (UGS). This was reported in the official Telegram channel of the company.

“The daily productivity of Russian UGS facilities is being brought to an unprecedented level – 847.9 million cubic meters (including UGS facilities in Belarus and Armenia – 887.9 million cubic meters),” it was reported.

The company noted that the analysis of weather conditions in the Russian Federation and European countries over the past few years indicates that March can now also be attributed to the winter months. For this reason, it is necessary to have sufficient fuel reserves in the UGS facility.

It is noted that in the previous heating season, they used 60.6 billion cubic meters of gas from Russian UGS facilities. Now “Gazprom” plans to accumulate in storage facilities 72.638 billion cubic meters of gas and 73.824 billion, taking into account storage facilities in Belarus and Armenia.

“The company is focused on strictly fulfilling the priority task – ensuring high reliability of gas supplies to Russian and foreign consumers,” Gazprom said.

According to Alexei Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Russia’s gas reserves will last for 100 years.

Earlier it was reported that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky offered Gazprom a 50% discount on gas transit in excess of the contract.
