Gamaleya Center has applied for registration of the Sputnik Light vaccine

The Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology has submitted documents to the Russian Ministry of Health for registration of the Sputnik Light coronavirus vaccine.

According to the assistant to the Minister of Health Alexei Kuznetsov, in the near future, specialists will conduct an examination of the quality, safety and effectiveness of this vaccine.

After that, according to him, an appropriate decision will be made, reports TASS.

Sputnik Light is a lightweight version of Sputnik V. This vaccine consists of one component and requires only one injection, not two.

Director of the Center. N.F. Gamalei Alexander Gunzburg stated that it can be used to increase immunity in those who have previously had coronavirus.

The head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko announced that the clinical studies of Sputnik Light had ended a week ago. He stated that documents were prepared for the registration of the drug.
