The FSB stopped the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami cell in the Moscow region.
“In Moscow and the Moscow region, the activities of a cell of the international terrorist organization” Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami “were suppressed, two ringleaders and six of its active participants were detained,” the message says.
According to the ministry, the members of the cell carried out “anti-constitutional activities” based on the doctrine of the creation of a “world caliphate”, the destruction of the institutions of a secular society and the violent overthrow of the government.
At their meetings, the detainees disseminated terrorist ideology among the residents of the Moscow region, using conspiracy measures, the security officials said. It is also reported that prohibited propaganda materials were seized from representatives of the organization.
At the end of September, the special service stopped a terrorist act in Vladivostok. The attack was prepared by one of the leaders of the local neo-Nazis. According to the ministry, the security forces detained the leader of the regional neo-Nazi association Pravyye Primorya, born in 2000. He was preparing for a terrorist attack using an improvised explosive device.
