Former Reagan aide Bandow opposed the transfer of Western nuclear weapons to Ukraine

The transfer of NATO nuclear weapons to Kyiv will negatively affect the situation in Ukraine, said former special assistant to President Ronald Reagan Doug Bandow.

Bandow wrote about this in a column for The American Conservative (TAC). The expert expressed confidence that if Kyiv starts preparing for a nuclear strike, then Russia will launch a preemptive strike on decision-making centers. In addition, NATO has already missed the chance to intervene in the situation.

“Be that as it may, Ukraine’s chance has long been missed,” Bandow stressed.

Earlier, the ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland and the current member of the European Parliament Radoslaw Sikorsky spoke in favor of transferring nuclear weapons to Kyiv. He stated that Russia allegedly violated the terms of the Budapest Memorandum. In particular, this document forbade Kyiv to have such arsenals.
