Former Italian Prime Minister, permanent leader of the Forward Italy party and MEP Silvio Berlusconi has resumed his political activities, Corriere della Sera newspaper writes.
He said that he felt "tired and exhausted," noting that he passed this ordeal.
Berlusconi added that he will continue campaigning in the media ahead of elections in a number of areas, as well as a nationwide referendum on reducing the number of parliamentarians, to be held September 20-21.
Meanwhile, the politician admitted that after being infected with the coronavirus, there was a moment when he feared for his life. According to him, in the first three days in the hospital it was hard, there was pain throughout the body.
“I was afraid that I would not overcome this test, before my eyes were scenes from intensive care units with intubated patients, but I always believed in God and the ability of doctors,” Berlusconi said. He also addressed all those infected, saying that you should not despair and give up, as COVID-19 can be overcome.

On September 3, the 83-year-old politician was hospitalized in a hospital in Milan. Doctors found signs of bilateral pneumonia in Berlusconi, and later it became known that his condition improved.
The politician was discharged from the hospital on September 14.
