Former footballer of “Akhmat” Maxim Bokov on the air of the podcast “A Simpler Face” spoke about how the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, motivated the players.
“We crossed paths with Kadyrov, he talked to us, brought a suitcase of money – he motivated us. I said that if you lose, you won’t get it. He came before important games, ”Bokov recalled. In his opinion, this helped the team’s players to win several important victories.
Bokov played for Akhmat, at that time called Terek, from 2003 to 2005. As part of the team, he won the Russian Cup. At the moment, the 48-year-old specialist works in the structure of CSKA Moscow.
In December last year, former Akhmat midfielder Artem Voronkin spoke about Kadyrov’s generosity. According to the footballer, after the team entered the Russian Premier League, the players were given prizes in the form of Toyota Land Cruiser 200 cars. Those who refused to buy cars received one hundred thousand dollars in cash.
