Foreign Ministers of Russia and Germany hold talks in Moscow

Negotiations have begun in Moscow between Russian and German Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov and Annalena Burbock, RIA Novosti reports.

Before the talks began, a Kremlin spokesman said that Russia hoped to improve relations with Germany.

“Of course, we would like to see a more constructive state of Russian-German relations, we are aimed at overcoming the accumulated problems with all members of the new government,” Lavrov said.

In turn, Burbock said that the new German government recognizes the importance of good relations between countries. At the same time, she clarified that difficult topics will also be raised at the talks.

“Today we will discuss, among other things, topics that cast a shadow on our relations,” the head of the German Foreign Ministry, for whom the visit to Russia was the first as a minister, told reporters.

Recall, the day before, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock visited Ukraine, where she met with representatives of the Ukrainian government.
