The Federal Biomedical Agency of Russia has developed and patented a drug for the treatment of coronavirus, the press service of the FMBA reports.
They noted that the innovative medicine was developed on behalf of the head of the agency, Veronica Skvortsova. The drug has direct antiviral activity against new infections.
“In accordance with the established state assignment, scientists from the Institute of Immunology of the FMBA of Russia have developed and patented (patent No. 2733361) a drug that is a combination of synthetic micro-RNAs (miRNAs) that specifically bind to the genomic RNA of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus according to the principle of complementarity ", - said in a press release.
Earlier today, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said that drugs for the treatment of COVID-19 are included in the list of vital essential drugs.
