Figure skater Valieva wins short program at European Championship with world record


Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva was the leader after the short program at the European Championships in Tallinn. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.

For net rental, the 15-year-old athlete received 90.45 points. This is a new world record. The previous achievement in the short program also belonged to Valieva and amounted to 87.42 points.

The Belgian Luna Hendrix (76.25) is in the second place, the Russian Alexandra Trusova is in the third position (75.13). The fourth line is occupied by her compatriot Anna Shcherbakova (69.05).

The athletes will present their free program on January 15. The European Championship will end a day later. Based on the results of the tournament, the squads for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing will be formed.

Valieva on December 25 won the Russian Championship, which was held in St. Petersburg. Trusova and Shcherbakova are in second and third places, respectively.
