Actor Fedor Dobronravov spoke about her position.
The public will no longer see the beloved character Ivan Stepanovich Budko. The star of the film refused to participate in the new season. The actor made this choice consciously.
“Matchmakers” has been delighting the audience with plot twists, acting and vivid dialogues for about 15 years. Last year, the seventh season was released on Russia 1. Many thought that it would be the final one. However, recently it became known that the filming of the eighth season will begin in the winter. The new series will be released in autumn-summer 2023. But this time, the audience will not see their favorite character in the picture – Ivan Stepanovich performed by Fyodor Dobronravov. The director of the series explained why the 60-year-old actor refused to play in the continuation of the comedy film.
“Tut, as in any other business, everything is good in moderation. Regarding the departure of Dobronravov, one must understand that everyone decides for himself when it is worth leaving. And if Fedya decided to leave, then this is absolutely his business, which means he decided that enough was enough.”, commented Eduard Radzyukevich, quoting NEWS.ru.
It is worth noting that 2022 quarreled with the acting team. So, Anna Koshmal, who played the role of Zhenya Kovaleva in the fifth, sixth and seventh seasons, left the series with a scandal. The Ukrainian actress reproached her colleagues who supported Russia on the issue of conducting a special operation to protect Donbass. “I want them to see and remember what sincere feelings I had for them and what a big slap in the face they gave to all of us‘, she said at the time.
Anna also erased all the touching photo captions addressed to her on-screen grandfather Fedor Dobronravov and grandmother Tatyana Kravchenko. Nightmare assured that she no longer had tender feelings for them. Moreover, Nightmare cut off her path to the entire Russian cinema.
