Federation Council of the Russian Federation responded to Kiev’s protest over voting in Crimea

The protest and call for increased sanctions against the Russian Federation due to the elections of the head of the city being held in Sevastopol, as well as by-elections to the regional parliaments of Crimea and Sevastopol, are stereotyped and more like a worn-out record, says Ekaterina Altabayeva, a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation from Sevastopol.

On the eve of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine protested in connection with the holding of a single voting day in Crimea. The department called Russia's actions a continuation of the violation of Ukrainian territorial integrity. They noted that everyone involved in the voting will be held accountable in accordance with the laws of the country. The Foreign Ministry also asked other countries and international organizations to condemn Moscow's actions and clearly declare its non-recognition of the elections on the peninsula. In addition, they asked to increase political and diplomatic pressure on the Russian Federation, including by expanding sanctions. Kiev considers Crimea the territory of Independence.

Every time I never cease to be amazed at the stereotyped thinking. When will creative thought begin to appear in the minds of these pseudo-politicians? It is quite obvious that Crimea and Sevastopol are a settled issue - they are part of the Russian Federation. And they have everything, let's say, a hackneyed record. They say that this is the territory of Ukraine. It was necessary to bother about this earlier, to restore order in your country, - quotes Altabaev RIA Novosti.

On the territory of the peninsula, within the framework of a single voting day on September 13, elections for the governor of Sevastopol, as well as by-elections of deputies of the State Council of the republic and the Simferopol parliament, are held.

Elections of various levels are held in 83 constituent entities of Russia. According to their results, a total of about 80 thousand mandates will be replaced. According to the procedure for holding a single voting day approved by the CEC, September 13 is the main day, and on September 11 and 12, citizens' will is expressed ahead of schedule.

Earlier reported that Ukrainian volunteers on the Day of the city of Lugansk on September 12 sent a parcel post with postcards to the territory of Donbass. The box with leaflets was tied to large red and black balloons and launched into the sky.
