Exitpol: acting head of Kharkiv wins Mayor Igor Terekhov

The acting head of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, is in the lead in the elections for the mayor of the city, TASS reports.

According to exit poll, Terekhov is gaining 51.9% of the vote, the second place is occupied by the former head of the Kharkiv region and ex-parliamentary deputy Mikhail Dobkin (27.6%). The third place is taken by the candidate from the party “European Solidarity” Alexander Skorik (6.4%).

On Sunday, October 31, elections of the city mayor took place in Kharkiv, ten candidates took part in them.

According to the press service of the National Police of Ukraine, due to violations in the elections of the head of Kharkiv, two criminal cases were opened under the article on obstruction of the exercise of electoral rights. In addition, one case was initiated under the article on falsification of electoral documents.

We will remind, the mayor of Kharkiv Gennady Kernes died in December last year. It was reported that he died due to the effects of the coronavirus. After the death of Kernes, acting. Igor Terekhov was appointed head of Kharkov.
