The European Parliament includes opposition proposals in the resolution on Belarus

Former Minister of Culture of Belarus Pavel Latushko, who since last summer has been stripped of all posts and diplomatic rank for supporting the opposition, is actively fighting President Alexander Lukashenko. The movement “People’s Anti-Crisis Management” headed by him has won support from the European Union.

The European Parliament, according to the politician, included in the resolution on Belarus an additional ten points proposed by the NAU and other democratic forces in exile. In addition to non-recognition of the results of the presidential elections, if the document is adopted, the EU will cease to consider Lukashenka the head of state.

Today, some European countries have already recognized Svetlana Tikhanovskaya as the president of Belarus, who, according to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus, lost the elections. Now this practice can be extended to all EU countries.

“For the first time, the thesis is being laid about the non-recognition of Alexander Lukashenko as the President of Belarus,” Latushko noted.

The oppositionist also stressed that the landing in Minsk of a plane with Roman Protasevich on board may be recognized as an act of international terrorism. According to him, because of this, the European Parliament insists on additional sanctions against the Lukashenka regime.

In addition, the NAU came up with an initiative to declare the KGB officers of the Republic of Belarus persona non grata on the territory of the European Union. Latushko noted that as a measure of influence, the EU countries could recall their ambassadors and impose restrictions on Belarusian diplomats.
