EU Summit Calls To Prepare To End Brexit Negotiations Without Deal

Progress in the negotiations between the European Union and the UK on its withdrawal from the European community is not sufficient to conclude a free trade agreement, TASS reports, citing a statement from the EU summit on Brexit.

It is noted that since progress in the negotiations is insufficient, they will be extended for several weeks, while they should be completed no later than December 31.

The statement said that the European Council confirms that the transition period will end on December 31 and calls on the UK to "take the necessary action to make the agreement possible."

The EU summit also called on EU countries to prepare to conclude negotiations with Britain on Brexit without a free trade agreement.
