EU starts to impose anti-dumping duties on birch plywood from Russia

The European Union has launched the procedure for introducing anti-dumping duties on birch plywood supplies from Russia.

About it reports TASS with reference to the European Commission.

It is noted that the reason for the introduction of duties was the complaints of European manufacturers about the low prices of materials supplied to Europe from the Russian Federation.

The European Commission has launched an anti-dumping procedure against the import of birch plywood from Russia. The dumping price complaint was filed with the European Commission on 31 August 2020 by the European Wood Industry Consortium on behalf of two European manufacturers that produced more than 25% of all birch plywood in the EU in 2019, - says the EC decision, published in the Official Journal of the EU.

Earlier reported that from January 1, 2022, the export from the country of rough or unprocessed coniferous and valuable timber will be prohibited in Russia.
