The European Union has completely lifted sanctions against the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov. The politician won the case in the European Court.
“The European Union lifted all sanctions after a recent court hearing. The question of my return to Ukraine is not yet raised, as this requires appropriate conditions, ”Mykola Azarov said during a press conference in Vienna.
The former prime minister of Ukraine recalled that Kiev had opened a fictitious criminal case against him. “The case has been going on for more than seven years. The EU noted that cases should not be conducted for so long, because they should have a reasonable duration, as stated in the court’s decision, ”added Mykola Azarov.
Mykola Azarov was the Prime Minister of Ukraine from 2010 to 2014. During the events on the Maidan, he had to leave the country, the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych did the same.
