Sadyr Japarov, who won the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, called Russia the republic’s main ally, RIA Novosti reports.
“After the collapse of the Union, we have been strategic partners for 30 years,” he stressed during a press conference.
Let us remind you that on January 10, Kyrgyzstan held presidential elections and a referendum to determine the form of government in the republic. According to preliminary data, the former acting President Sadyr Japarov won in the first round with 79% of the vote.
The CEC also reported that 80% of Kyrgyz residents chose the presidential form of government.
