Economist Tereladze told why credit cards are dangerous

In the course of research by the National Association of Professional Collection Agencies (NAPKA) and the Equifax credit history bureau, it turned out that Russians do not repay every tenth loan.

The most problematic segment in terms of the growth rate of “bad” debt at the moment is credit cards, here delinquency has been growing over the past five months.

In a conversation with the FAN, Associate Professor of the Department of Management of the SZIU RANEPA, Candidate of Economic Sciences David Tereladze spoke about what you need to remember before using a credit card, and also why debt on them is more dangerous than on other cards.

“The danger of credit cards is that there is an interest-free period: when people take out a loan, they skip this period. As a result, interest is accrued, people forget about it, going into a technical delay, “- said the interlocutor of the FAN.

David Tereladze stressed that people who decide to get a credit card should remember the period when the interest-free period ends.

“Plus, this is a low payment discipline, so you need to be very careful with credit cards, otherwise you can easily ruin your credit history,” the expert added.
