Earlier it became known that the Belarusian authorities classified almost 15% of oil exports to Russia. Against the background of the introduction of Western sanctions against Minsk, the “closed” categories of Belstat were added oil and oil products, mineral fertilizers, tractors.
Rozhankovsky recalled that Belarus is one of the largest suppliers through which gas and oil pipelines pass. It was this factor that influenced the decision of Minsk to classify exports.
“If Belarus believes that after the publication of this information, it will fall under the imposition of new sanctions, then its choice (to classify exports) can be called a normal reaction,” the economist commented.
Earlier, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yevgeny Shevchenko explained how Minsk took revenge on Kiev at the most inopportune moment. According to him, gas prices are not the only problem in Ukraine’s energy system.
